Wayne State Warriors Football Update
This week, the Wayne State Warriors will face the 16th-ranked UIndy football team in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, September 21, at 6 p.m. ET in Detroit. Currently, the Warriors hold a record of 0-2, while UIndy has started the season strong with two victories, the latest being a 41-34 win against Truman in their GLVC opener.
Historically, UIndy has the upper hand in their matchups, leading the all-time series 14-10. Since UIndy's transition to the GLVC in 2012, they have won all three encounters against Wayne State. In their previous meeting last season, UIndy showcased a solid defensive performance, winning 28-7 and limiting the Warriors to only a late score. The last game played in Detroit in 2017 also saw a narrow victory for UIndy, ending 31-28 with a dramatic last-second field goal.
